Randy JohnsonThe Tennessee Advanced Energy Business Council is a membership-driven organization. Each month, we highlight one of our valued members. This week, we’re talking to Randy Johnson, President of Johnson Energy Solutions LLC. Learn more about Johnson Energy here.

What is the value of the advanced energy industry in Tennessee?

Randy Johnson: I think the advanced energy industry spotlights Tennessee as a leader in the 21st century economy.

How does your organization fall under the advanced energy industry?

Johnson: My company’s primary focus is in the development of projects to process sustainable organic waste streams into Renewable Natural Gas and/or Carbon Neutral Hydrogen. I believe we are in a segment of the industry that is absolutely critical to decarbonizing energy in all segments.  We are involved with clients both locally and globally. Every day is fascinating.

What exciting developments would you like to discuss about your organization?

Johnson: The picture on this page of our website illustrates some of the diverse and exciting areas we get to play in.

Why did your organization join TAEBC?

Johnson: We joined TAEBC because it is an avenue to meet and network with other players in the advanced energy sector.  Every time I participate in a meeting or program, I learn something new, and frequently meet some very interesting people.

What value does TAEBC provide to your organization and the state of Tennessee?

Johnson: I believe TAEBC is an effective, credible “front man” for the various advanced energy sectors and provides a spotlight on Tennessee as a leader in the advanced energy movement.

Is there anything else you would like to add?

Johnson: I appreciate all of TAEBC’s efforts to communicate and spread the word about the advanced energy business community. From the annual meetings to the recent round tables, they have always been professionally prepared and implemented.

About Johnson Energy Solutions: At Johnson Energy Solutions LLC we believe that the best path to meeting our energy needs is by “mining” the organic wastes from our farms, forests, factories, commercial buildings and wastewater treatment facilities as well as the waste streams that are filling our landfills. The “fuel feedstock” from this “mining” effort can provide clean, renewable energy while solving a number of environmental problems associated with wasted energy, solid waste, air emissions, poor forest management and water pollution… and most importantly, we help our clients determine how it can all be done in a sustainable, cost effective manner.
