Brian Timmons Headshot

The Tennessee Advanced Energy Business Council is a membership-driven organization. As a value to our members, we highlight their efforts and impact on the state’s advanced energy economy. Today, we’re highlighting TAEBC Member Brian Timmons, Chairman and CEO at Solar Alliance.

Why are you a part of TAEBC?

Solar Alliance sees great opportunity in the Southeast and wants to participate in the business growth and development of the region itself. The Tennessee Advanced Energy Business Council brings together a diverse group of businesses similarly focused on economic development. The provision of lower-cost renewable energy adds to the attraction of the Tennessee region as a base for investment by foreign corporations in the USA, and we are proud to be able to support that initiative.

What value does TAEBC provide to your organization?

The value that TAEBC brings is a sum greater than the whole of these diverse businesses coming together through membership.  The support and advocacy for innovation provides an industry-wide and community-wide voice promoting advanced energy.  We firmly believe renewable energy production and storage remains a key part of the advanced energy landscape.

A Recent Win:

Solar Alliance’s Knoxville-based construction team at Solar Alliance Southeast designed and installed AESSEAL Inc.’s 526-kilowatt solar photovoltaic system at its North American headquarters. The manufacturer combined the power of solar with a large-scale battery storage system to help reach its NetZero sustainability goals. This represents one of the first large-scale solar + storage installations for private industry in Tennessee to enhance energy resilience and maximize clean energy use. The solar + storage system provides backup power and increases the self-consumption of the solar energy generated onsite for the entire 50,000 square-foot AESSEAL Inc. facility located at Stock Creek Development Center in Rockford. TAEBC awarded AESSEAL Inc. the Thomas B. Ballard Advanced Energy Leadership Award in 2024 for this effort.

“AESSEAL Inc. shows leadership in developing this advanced energy system at its headquarters. The Solar Alliance Southeast has been proud to build the solar array and integrate it with the large-scale energy storage. Implementing business solutions like this is our specialty.” – Solar Alliance General Manager US Jon Hamilton
