The Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation’s (TDEC) Office of Energy Programs (OEP) is hosting a Volkswagen Diesel Settlement public information session in Chattanooga on Dec. 15 and an online webinar on Dec. 19. Sessions were previously held in Nashville on Oct. 31, Knoxville on Nov. 7, and Memphis on Nov. 17.

The session and webinar will provide an overview of the VW Diesel Settlement, the Environmental Mitigation Trust, TDEC’s process for developing a proposed Beneficiary Mitigation Plan for Tennessee, and the types of eligible mitigation actions that may be funded by Tennessee’s Environmental Mitigation Trust allocation. TDEC is currently seeking input from the public to inform the State’s Beneficiary Mitigation Plan and has developed a web-based public comment form to allow interested stakeholders to submit comments regarding the State’s utilization of its Environmental Mitigation Trust allocation.

The public info session and webinar are both free and open to the public. Registration is required due to space restrictions. Please note that the webinar will be recorded and posted to the TDEC website.
